Sudbury - Leavenheath - Nayland - Colchester
There will be seven additional journeys on Saturdays to make the bus more convenient, along with an additional journey at 1605 from Colchester during school holidays, and extra journeys during the day on all Mondays to Fridays to provide a more regular timetable – more or less every hour.
Due to low usage the 0545 from Long Melford (0555 from Sudbury) to Colchester will be withdrawn. The current 0725 from Colchester will start in Nayland, not from Colchester.
Braintree - Halstead - Sudbury
The morning journey will be advanced 5 minutes.
Clare - Bury St Edmunds
This route will divert in Bury St Edmunds via Vinery Road and Out Westgate between West Suffolk Hospital and the town centre. Bus stops in Hardwick Lane, Wilks Road and Cullum Road will no longer be served due to peak time traffic congestion on the existing route. At the Hospital buses will use the bus stop in the Hospital grounds.
Bures - Sudbury - Bury St Edmunds Schools and West Suffolk College
We have carefully reviewed loadings and capacity throughout the current academic year and found that we are providing many more seats than are needed. Consequently we will no longer be running the 752 from Sudbury at 0745. If you have been using this bus to travel from Sudbury to West Suffolk College please use the 751 that runs a few minutes earlier and which will now stop in the town centre, within walking distance of the college, or the 753. If you catch the 752 along the A134 (in villages such as Alpheton) please remember that there will now only be one 752, and you may prefer to catch the 751 to the town centre. If you get on in Sicklesmere please use the 753 as we expect the 752 to be full.
In the afternoon there will no longer be a 752 at 1705, but there will be a 753 at 1704 from West Suffolk College, and an additional 753 at 1742 from the Bus Station.
- 753 Bury St Edmunds - Lavenham - Long Melford - Sudbury
- 754 Sudbury - Bures - West Bergholt - Colchester
Our flagship timetable from Bury St Edmunds to Sudbury to Colchester gets a complete revamp! We will be running up to every 30 minutes from Sudbury to Colchester, with additional peak time journeys ideal for people commuting home from work in Colchester.
New times will apply from Sudbury to Bury St Edmunds, with an additional off-peak departure and a new journey back from Bury St Edmunds at 1742 – ideal if you finish work in the town centre at 5.30pm.
We won’t be extending beyond the bus station to Bury St Edmunds Rail Station anymore as very few people used the bus on that part of the route (and we got stuck in traffic too frequently).
- 755 Clare/Great Waldingfield - Sudbury
- 756 Sudbury - Colchester Norman Way Schools
These two routes are combined into one bus numbered 756, which will now run start slightly earlier from Clare. In the afternoon at Norman Way Schools please use bus 84 if you are only travelling as far as the rail station as the 756 may be very busy. If you’d like a less crowded journey please use the 84 to Stanwell Street (that’s Colchester Bus Station) and change there to the 754 (you’ll need to do this if you are travelling to Acton, Great Waldingfield or Lavenham anyway).
